3 Key Pieces for Androgynous Style

I have never been a fan of winter, ever. If you’d told me 6 months ago that I was allowed to hibernate through winter I would’ve jumped at the chance, but things have changed – my style has changed.

I have completely embraced androgynous style this season and feel empowered by the structured lines and practical pieces, it’s a fresh change from the frumpy sweaters of years past. For those who may not know, androgynous fashion is a style that aims to avoid gender stereotypes. There are three pieces that you need to absolutely nail your androgynous style.

Structured blazer

Strong shoulders, straight lines and a classic colour – a black or navy blazer will be your ultimate friend. Try to find a blazer that has a slightly longer hemline and sits just below the hips to give the oversized, masculine “boyfriend” vibe.

Classic white shirt

If you’ve been reading my blog or following my instagram for a little while you know that I am absolutely OBSESSED with a classic white shirt. It is both timeless and essential. As with the blazer to get that true androgynous style, opt for an oversized style as if you’ve borrowed your boyfriend’s work shirt.

Loafers

To absolutely slay you need a pair of killer loafers! You can choose both heels or flats but I feel that flats just strengthen the look. I love my Gucci Princetown Slippers but understandably they aren’t a realistic purchase for every budget but the great thing is that Loafers are incredibly on trend right now and so there are plenty of affordable brands that have released their own version.
